About the Event
Fabrics for a small runner with birds on winter white, as pictured.
1 yard white background (one piece, or an assortment totaling 1 yd)
(avoid directional fabric, as we will be freeform piecing)
Assorted scraps for birds: one bird needs:
legs 6” x 2” scrap
beak 1 1/2” square
wing 6” square
body 3” x 8” scrap OR 5” square
(bring enough for 5-6 birds)
Back 1/2 yard
Binding 1/4 yard - a stripe is fun!
Rotary mat, cutter, 6” x 12” ruler
sewing machine, with cords
Iron, pressing surface (shared)
thread for piecing
a sense of freedom and adventure!
IF you don’t love the white background, think about placing your birds on a blue sky, or maybe in the leafy greens of a summer tree. Your birds can stand on a branch……or a fence…..or the snowy ground - it’s up to you!
